Another year, another blog post

Subtitle: 12 months in photos

Last year, we had a garden.  It was awesome.

In August, we unexpectedly went to San Diego for a week.  It was great!!

Stopping in Las Vegas to play with cousins

and their dog.

Then, to San Diego, and straight to the beach.

Another dog to play with at our the house of our excellent hosts--Matt's uncle and aunt.
Adele, as it turns out, LOVES dogs.

Touring the local battle ship
Adele was mostly interested in all the stairs.

Back to the beach.

She had the soundest nap of her life there on the shore after a few hours.

Enjoying the pool at the home of our excellent hosts.

Adele met her great-grand parents,
and we got a three-generations picture.

Adele LOVES babies.  This is her (at the time) new nephew.

Of note when reviewing the year is my Fallopian tube exploding in September.  It was a very lame, albeit educational experience.  One good thing that came out of it was my mom coming to help for two weeks, God bless her, because I wasn't allowed to lift Adele.
They had fun bonding.

We got this great video of Adele enjoying her rocking moose,
which is a dream come true for me, since I've been obsessed with
this rocking moose since my first trip to Ikea back in 2006

Becoming a puzzle genius

I can't remember the details, but this day I decided she could
carry her own diaper bag, so I packed a small one for her

My favorite event of the year!!!  Fifth annual 1st date re-creation at Cornbelly's. Especially exciting because it was the first year Adele was old enough to enjoy it.  10/10/14

Everything was a big hit, but the
corn beach was her favorite.

For Halloween, we put her in her a Dell costume again.
We practiced holding out her pail at home, and she had it down pat at the Trunk or Treat.

Halloween day we joined Grandma and some cousins for free pancakes at IHOP

Adele's first time taking a photo (I think)
Her feet are just too adorable!

Mama scored this playhouse at the DI for $35!!
("Mama" is me, in case that was unclear.)

In November Adele and a newly pregnant and thoroughly exhausted I left Matt at home and joined Grandma and Grandpa on a one week vacation to San Diego.

Matt walking Adele to the car the morning we left.
I love her outfit!

Adele became quite a Grandpa's girl on this trip.
At this pit stop, she wouldn't let me to hold her, only Grandpa.

In true toddler fashion, she came back inside in less time than it took to get her dressed.

Matt's birthday!!!
Nothing brings out that smile like his grandma's chocolate cake

In January, I started to redecorate our bedroom,
and Adele was very interested in helping remove the wallpaper
(four layers in some areas-- thank goodness for my steamer!)

Diapering one of her various babies

Loving Flaming Hot Cheetos
(I said to Matt, "You must be so proud!"
He replied, "No way!  More competition for scarce resources.)

Adele and Cousin Ben are quite tight

She gets to choose her own clothes.
This boarder look made several appearances and always cracked me up.

For some reason, she obsessed with this photo collage.
She holds it and runs around or rocks wildly on the recliner.
The glass has been broken out and the frame pieced back together.

I had to document this killer parking spot I got at Walmart

Hilarious video of Adele being very sleepy at dinner time

Adele really loves Daniel Tiger.  He came to town, so we went and waited in line two hours to meet him.  She was excited to see him across the room, and she liked the cardboard cut-out, but she freaked out when she met the actual character.

Corina and Riley came to visit!
Adele super loved their baby Levi.  She'd rock him, cover him with blankets,
read him books, and make sure he always had his pacifier. 5/22
 Hyrum was okay too.

Adele found the freaky realistic baby in the DI bag and insisted on taking it
around town with her for the day,
freaking out the cousins and aunts, and various people at Costco

The epic, historic day Adele started letting me do her hair.
Thank you play date and peer pressure!

Matt and I celebrate our fourth anniversary at Red Robin and get free cake

Fourth of July with the Richards.
The fireworks in their neighborhood were amazing!
Adele and these two cousins are pretty much BFFs.

Adele has become a very enthusiastic percussionist.
It's getting hard to keep plastic scrappers in the kitchen
7/6/15

And that more or less gets us up-to-date.  Coming up next: my dad's funeral, and our second child's birth.  Stay tuned!
